Senior Project Manager

At TAG IT we support large leading corporations to optimize their IT in two ways. Firstly, we align existing IT departments with the constant changing and demanding business reality and requirements. Secondly, we design, develop and deliver new tailor made IT solutions.

TAG IT is a young, lean and innovation driven company that works extremely agile but at the same time builds on the knowledge and experience of in depth IT experts in our team. We are agile as a start-up, but with extensive experience on top.

Function description

Activity & role:

  • Assure an optimal project execution and delivery by coordinating a multi-layered project (or several projects) in constant alignment with the customer
  • Guarantee the realization of strategic objectives in line with business requirements
  • Plan, organize, lead and control the project scope, resources and risk by performing a thorough risk analysis and aligning with customer needs
  • Lead, coach and train team members ( annalists and developers).
  • Communicate at high standards with the client on project evolutions and take up the role as business advisor
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders and/or constituents to:
    • Support the identification of opportunities and benefits to achieve the client’s strategic objectives through project implementation
    • Maintain up to date a project roadmap (high-level view of key milestones and decision points) using goals and objectives of the program, applicable historical information, and other available resources in order to align program with organizational strategic objectives
    • Manage project benefits & quick customer wins
    • Manage project changes in accordance with the structured program governance to resolve scope, quality, schedule, cost, and risk impacts; analyze impact of the changes on the expected benefits and outcome
    • Address project risks and issues by identifying and following up the appropriate actions to enable continued program progress; maintain an integrated risk register

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an internal consultant/advisor to the client’s leadership teams by applying technical expertise to diagnose gaps,  bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Drive development of detailed improvement proposals and presentation of business case to demonstrate ROI to gain buy-in of key stakeholders
  • Apply superior project and resource management skills to execute project
  • Implement and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Skillset & qualifications

Master degree in engineering or relevant experience that equals this qualification

Minimum 10 years of experience

Technical skills (as a surplus):

  • Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Python or VB.Net and respective frameworks
  • Experience working with process mapping
  • Strong experience of IT architecture, business and functional analysis
  • Good knowledge of continuous integration tools (like GitHub, etc.)
  • Experience with Jira or other bug tracking software
  • Experience creating and maintaining project plans with dependencies
  • Experience working with cloud based applications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of Project / Program Management experience with capability of working independently on multiple projects, and ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to deliver successful projects implementing complex systems project definition through program governance, monitoring and close out
  • Experience with different Project management methodologies in practice (Waterfall, PRINCE2 or related, Agile / Scrum)
  • Certifications in project management methodology (at least 1 is a must)
    • Certification through PMP or PMI preferred
